Trustees

Friends at the End is led by a board of volunteer trustees.

Friends at the End is led by a council of volunteers, who bring a mix of experience and insight into end of life choices.

Friends at the End was formed in 2000 by a group of people led by Dr Libby Wilson who, until her death in March 2016, was Convenor of the organisation.

Emma is the convenor of the FATE Board of Trustees. She is an experienced third sector CEO and has particular expertise in organisational change, fundraising and policy. Emma joined FATE following her experience of providing palliative care for a relative.

  • Dr Julie Lang

  • Dr Gillian MacDougall

We’re always keen to hear from people who could bring their experience to our Board.

Urgent support

We support people facing the end of life and promote choice at that time; we don’t provide information about methods of ending life. For urgent support, Samaritans are on 116 123, free, day or night. Breathing Space is on 0800 83 85 87. For questions about your own care, your GP or palliative care team is the right first call.
