- Your privacy and personal information is very important to Friends at the End (known hereafter as FATE). We want you to be confident that when you share personal information with us it won’t be passed to any third party.
- We may collect two types of personal information from users of our website – Personally Identifiable Information and Non-Personally Identifiable Information. An example of Personally Identifiable may include, but not be restricted to your name, address and email address. We will only collect this information from you however, if you voluntarily submit it and unless you request otherwise, we will not share it with a third party nor will we sell, rent license or trade your personal information unless you give us permission to do so. Non-Personally Identifiable Information is information which cannot be used to identify you. This includes demographic information such as age, or gender (but not name). It may also include your IP address, browser types and domain names and other anonymous data. FATE will only use this information to help us deliver a better website service to you.
If you have any questions about FATE, please email us using the information on our contact page.
Different types of cookies
There are two different types of cookies – ‘session’ cookies and ‘persistent’ cookies. The FATE website, like many websites, uses both. Session cookies are temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies have a longer expiration date and stay on your computer hard-drive until you manually delete them – usually when you delete your search history.
One example of a persistent cookie is the ‘remember me on this computer’ function which means you can access the private area of a website again from your own PC or mobile, without logging-in again. Session cookies and persistent cookies which may be placed on our website by us are known for this reason are ‘first party cookies.’
Third party cookies
Here’s a list of the main types of cookies usde, and what we use them for.
- Finding us – How you found our website (search terms) and which website, if any you came from. This helps us understand which methods of promotion and keywords are the most effective.
- We have cookies which tell us if you are new to the website or have visited us before, so that we can see how many new visits to the website we have. This gives us an idea of how many members vs new contacts we have interested in Friends at the End.
